Welcome to the upgraded website, many of you know me as Guru Sahai Kaur or Joanna Moran. I am the current chair of the Teachers Association and we have been actively working on the new website project for the past year with the help of other comittee members and our website designer. Thankyou everyone!
I am so excited that after a lot of planning, time and expertise we have a website that members can easily use to promote their classes and workshops with even a bio page , blog entry and a private forum also. You can actually add your own content Wahe Guru!!
Most of us do not have an online presence so this is the ideal beginning, please use it as much as possible which will also increase public awareness of this Amazing legacy of Technology.
This I hope will be a truly Aquarian version of the website! It takes only a little while for those of us who are not very computer literate to be able to add content, my suggestion while typing content is to Save each paragraph and any amendments as you go along so that you will not be blaming Mercury Retrograde when content disapears ahem... personal experience talking .. more than once!!
Then you just go back to the edit and all content is there even if you go offline!!
You will need as Satjeet Kaur has written in her blog to renew your membership :-))) so that you can access your profile.

The main content area of the of the website's Home page AKA "the Front Page" will be a list of teasers (image and text snippet) automatically generated from the latest content (Events and Articles are automatically promoted to the Front Page).
A Login Block will appear to allow users to authenticate. Anonymous users can still see (most of) the site content but will not be able to contribute (add content).
Content Types:
The Site Content Types are as follows
Article
Moderators can use articles for time-sensitive content like news, press releases or announcements. Automatically promoted to front page. If it's something (with a Title and Description) happening on a specific date in a specific Location then it's more likely to be an Event (see below).
Basic page
Moderators can create basic pages for any static content, such as an 'About us' page. Not automatically promoted to the Front Page.
Blog entry
Every Member gets a personal blog to share their thoughts with the community. Not automatically promoted to front page but will automatically appear on the Blog page.
Event
Members can post Events happening on specific dates at specific locations. Automatically promoted to front page. Please refrain from using Events for anything other than an Event. You can request that a Blog Post be promoted to the Front Page by any of the Moderators.
Forum topic
Only members can create and view forum topics to facilitate new discussion threads within the forum. Not visible to the outside world.
Resource File
Moderators can create Resource Files which are available for access by Members only. Not automatically promoted to the Front Page.
Sections:
Home
The Front Page consists of a list of teasers for KY Ireland Articles and Events (and any Blogs Postings deemed worthy of promotion). The Moderators will decide what appears / remains on the Front Page.
About
The About Page consists the background information about the Association along with a Useful Links section.
Events
The Events Page shows all the Events in a consolidated list.
Teachers
The Teachers page presents a list of the Teachers in Table format. The content can be filtered by a County selection from a Drop Down box and the columns in the Table are sortable by clicking on the Column Header.
Training
The Training page presents the Training information.
Subscription
A new Donate / Subscription page with information and a link to Pay.
Resources
A Resources Page where files can be downloaded and links to online resource. Anonymous users will not see the Private Resource files.

Search
Search will attempt to find content based on key words. Only Authenticated users will be able to access content found by the Search if it is restricted (Forum Posting).
Blog
The Blog Page consists of a list of teasers of Blog Entries for all KY Ireland Teachers. There will be a "My Blog" Link for the logged in user to see a list of their own Blogs Posting.
Forum
Only Authenticated Users can read and create Forum Postings.

I hope that you all get plenty of experience updating your profiles and bios and please add blogs so that when we meet again soon at the AGM we can discuss how this new improved version is working and iron out any creases with the help of the team.
